The Clorox 700-count bucket uses a high-density polypropylene (HDPE) chassis designed for high-frequency use. Unlike smaller retail canisters, this bucket features a reinforced pull-through aperture. The wipes are made from a non-woven spunlace material, which provides significantly better wet tensile strength than paper-based alternatives. This industrial-grade design is intended to remain stable and prevent tip-overs during use. However, the internal foil seal can sometimes shift or delaminate due to the weight of the saturated wipes during shipping, which can lead to the top layer of wipes drying out prematurely.
Design & Handling
The bucket includes a star-cut silicone dispensing valve that provides high friction; however, this valve may tear the wipes if they are not pulled at a strict 90-degree angle. The plastic living hinge on the lid is a primary mechanical failure point and may break after several hundred uses. Because of the 15-pound weight when full, the handle should be used carefully to avoid stress failure. Additionally, capillary action may not always pull the solution to the top wipes if the bucket is stored vertically for more than three months, so periodic agitation or inverted storage may be necessary.
For a more portable option that fits in a desk drawer, the Amazon Basics 80-count canisters offer similar efficacy in a smaller size.
