The CLAM Pavilion is a 12.5-foot hub-style shelter that utilizes 11mm heavy-duty fiberglass poles and a center-pull tensioning system. This construction eliminates the sliding joints found in traditional gazebos, which can be prone to pinching. The fabric is a 210 Denier Poly-Oxford with 600D reinforcement at the hub stress points to help the frame withstand high tension cycles. The mesh walls feature a high hole count (1500 per square inch) to effectively manage even the smallest biting insects.
The unit features extra-large roof vents to help manage heat and reduce the greenhouse effect during the day. Because of the high tension required to pop the roof hub, setup is easiest with two people. To maintain the frame, it is recommended to always engage the roof hub before the side walls to equalize internal pressure. The unit collapses into a 6-foot-long carry bag, which typically requires a truck bed or a roof rack for transport. While the fabric is water-resistant, an optional rain fly is recommended for those expecting sustained rain.
The riveted metal-to-fiberglass pivot points are designed to stay tight over many uses, reducing the need for hardware adjustments.
For a smaller, 11-foot version that is easier to manage solo, the Arlopu 11x11 Gazebo might be a better fit.
