The Cocivivre 3D Teardrop Mirrors are made from 1mm thick extruded acrylic (PMMA). This material is a lightweight and shatterproof alternative to traditional glass, making it a safer option for children's playrooms or high-traffic entryways where impact is a possibility. The edges are laser-cut to ensure a smooth finish without sharp burrs. Each piece is extremely light, weighing roughly 12g, which makes installation very fast.
The practical reality of acrylic mirrors is that they are flexible. If the wall behind the mirror is not perfectly flat, the mirror will follow the curve of the wall, which can cause a "funhouse" distortion in the reflection. For this reason, these are best used as decorative accents rather than for grooming or tasks that require high optical accuracy. Additionally, acrylic has a lower surface hardness than glass and can be scratched by rough paper towels; a soft microfiber cloth is recommended for cleaning.
The adhesive used is a double-sided PE foam tape. This provides a very strong initial grip, but it is generally not considered "renter-friendly." Upon removal, the foam core can split or the adhesive can pull at the top layer of drywall. If you need to remove them, using a thin piece of dental floss to "saw" through the foam behind the mirror can help minimize wall damage.
If you need a decorative solution that is easier to remove and reposition, the 3D abstract door decals offer a vinyl-based alternative.
